Born
in August 10, 1645, Padre Eusebio Fransico also known as Father Kino was a
Jesuits priest from a small town which is now known as Northern Italy. With a German
education, he became almost a prototype for missionaries. Kino was not only a missionary and great
church builder, but was also a great ranchman and explorer. He is known for
successfully and accurately mapping of the Pirmeria Alta in detail starting in
1687. Know for doing a lot of missionary work in Arizona, the locals referred to as “Padre on
Horseback”. He would set out on long journeys, over long distances only on
horseback. Usually by himself and covering up to 1000 miles.
